CV Tips

Tips for a Top CV Listed below are a few guidelines to assist you in your search for a new career path. Good Luck!

  • Start with your latest job first, it makes it easier for the Client to read

  • Don't try to put too much information on your CV.

  • Use a legible font size, 11pt Arial or Times New Roman are advisable.

  • Always check your CV for spelling mistakes using an English spell checker.

  • Be honest, don't pad your CV out with experiences that you don't have.

  • Before naming references on your CV, seek their consent and that you have the correct details. Ensure your referees are still at the same employment.

  • Before sending your CV, get some feedback from the agencies that you are registered with or from someone with a keen eye. Check for content, clarity and emphasis.

  • Use a bold typeface only to emphasise. Do not overuse as it distracts from additional important information.

  • When emailing your CV, ensure you use a standard file format, an RTF is usually the safest format as not everyone is using the latest upgrades to software.

  • If you are sending your CV via email, do not forget to attach the file - it is easily forgotten
